FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Authorities were investigating a small plane crash in Fort Wayne where no reported injuries were reported.

Fort Wayne police were called to Smith Field Airport on Saturday around 2:30 p.m., according to WANE-TV.

A small plane crashed and ended up upside down on the airfield near an entrance. The pilot was the only person on board and didn’t report any injuries.

Joe Marana, director of operations and facilities for the Fort Wayne Allen County Airport Authority, said there were some issues landing at the field. Weather was not suspected to be a factor in the crash.

Marana said there has been a “fair share of aircraft incidents around the Fort Wayne area the last couple of years,” and the crash was about the third one in the last two years, according to the television station.
