Police say man exposed himself

A Freetown man was charged with a Class A Misdemeanor for public indecency after exposing himself in the lobby of the Abe Martin Lodge.

Indiana Conservation Officer Joseph Tenbarge was contacted by the general manager of the Abe Martin Lodge on June 29 in reference to an event that occurred early that same morning.

Tenbarge was advised that reports had been received of an individual, later identified as Robert Lasley II, 44, Freetown, staying in the lobby overnight.

The manager reviewed the recorded security footage of the lobby area and found “something disturbing,” according to the probable cause affidavit.

Police obtained security footage and observed Lasley performing “lewd acts” 22 times from 1:44 to 7:28 a.m., including exposing himself. He also appeared to be sorting through documents that had been laid out on one of the couches in the lobby.

Lasley was charged on Aug. 23.

Woman stole vehicle, drove to Indianapolis

HAMBLEN TWP. — A Brown County woman has been charged with vehicle theft after allegedly stealing a car from a home on Ford Ridge Road.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy William Pool interviewed a person of interest in the case on Aug. 19 about the theft that occurred Aug. 9.

Pool made contact with the man who said that he was giving a ride to Emily Parrish, 24, of Morgantown, when his vehicle broke down in the 7200 block of Ford Ridge Road, according to a probable cause affidavit.

He knew the owner of the address on Ford Ridge Road and they helped him move the vehicle into the yard to work underneath it. The individual told police that he then heard a vehicle start up on the property and speed off.

The individual did not have the vehicle owner’s number, but knew one of their family members so he made contact with the owner through them and let them know what happened.

According to the affidavit, when asked why he did not call law enforcement, the individual said that it was not what the owner would have wanted and so he did what he “thought would be right.”

Pool asked the individual when the last time he spoke to Parrish was and requested to see the text messages between them. The victim reportedly refused and became angry, the affidavit states.

He did give police two phone numbers for Parrish. Deputies looked up a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department regarding Parrish’s arrest who was caught driving the stolen vehicle in Indianapolis on Aug. 11.

Parrish was charged on Aug. 31 with auto theft, a Level 6 felony.
