Beatrice Anne Antonicic

Beatrice Anne Antonicic, 93, of Nashville, went home to be with her Savior on November 2. Be, as she liked to be called, had lived in Nashville only a little over two years, moving here to live with her family.

Be was born in Chicago and raised in Berwyn, Ill., before she married the late Joseph N. Antonicic and moved to Brookfield, Ill. She would live at that same address for 66 years. She was devoted to making a good home for her daughter Judy (Bill) Schlipp, and she was grateful for the privilege of being stepmother to the late John (Patricia) Antonicic.

Be loved to talk of her experiences in the favorite jobs she held at Marshall Field’s, Decca Records, Hines Veterans’ Hospital and many others. Her last place of work – one she greatly enjoyed – was the Village of Brookfield, where she was a secretary for 18 years, retiring in 1998. She made many friends both in school and in her workplaces and was dedicated to keeping in touch with them for a great number of years. While a homemaker, she was faithful to her church and poured her love for Jesus and children into teaching Sunday School to 2nd graders. In all aspects of her life, she warmed many hearts with her thoughtfulness, gentleness and enjoyment of gift-giving.

Be was the beloved grandmother of James (Jenni) Antonicic, Timothy (Jessica) Antonicic, Christopher (Anastasia) Antonicic, Ryan (Alisha) Schlipp and Jamie Schlipp and great-grandmother of Jonathon, Kayleigh, Alexandra, Samantha, Jeremy, Vince, Kullen, Riley Grace and Brinley.

The family would like to express special gratitude to the staff of Keepsake Village of Columbus and Our Hospice of Columbus. Their care for Be since January of this year was loving, compassionate and medically conscientious. Prior to that time, Be was occasionally cared for at home by Home Helpers of Nashville, whose caregivers were a wonderful blessing to both Be and her family.

Services were held in Brookfield, Ill., on November 9 and 10, 2021. Arrangements were handled by Johnson-Nosek Funeral Home of Brookfield. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park, Ill.

Memorial donations in honor of Be may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 E. 17th Street, Columbus, IN 47201, or PAWS Chicago, 1997 N. Clybourne Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614.
