Brown County resident Mindy Summers was one of 25 finalists for the state’s “Teacher of the Year” award this year.

Summers is a Central Middle School teacher in Bartholomew County. She is a Brown County High School graduate.

Summers was the 2020 Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.’s district winner. The BCSC Teacher of the Year Award was given for the first time in 2020.

Summer was also recognized as the 2021 Indiana Association of School Principals academic junior coach of the year.

Summers was recognized “for her dedication as Spell Bowl and Academic Super Bowl Coach at Central,” according to the school corporation.
