Donna J. (Fox) Fulkerson, age 79, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday morning, June 26, 2022 at her home in Franklin. She was a former resident of Brown County and Morgantown.
Donna was born Feb. 8, 1943, in Nashville, to her parents, the late Raymond and Bessie (Stott) Fox Sr. She married Carlton “Red” Fulkerson on April 7, 1968 in Aron, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2003 after 35 loving years of marriage.
Donna was a loving wife and mother/homemaker to their 5 children. She later worked as a Server at the Southport Cracker Barrell for 20 years.
Donna loved to cook and embroider and also enjoyed reading James Patterson novels and tending to her flower garden. Donna will be remembered most for her love of family, caring nature and desire to always take care of others.
She will be missed by her children: Debbra S. (Daniel) Gess and Jacqueline Swinehart both of Franklin and LaDonna Burton of Sevierville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Chasity Greene, Ashley Gess, Zackary Gess, Erin Brown, Michael Brown, Jodi Swinehart, Christopher Swinehart, Amanda DeTota, Erika Evans, Travis Burton and Nora Burton; great grandchildren, Rylee, Cherokee, Emmalyn, Grayson, James “JC” Carlton, Alli, Caroline and one on the way; siblings, Laura (Ernie) Wooldridge and Raymond ‘JR’ Fox both of Nashville.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carlton “Red” Fulkerson; children, Terence Fulkerson and Carlene Brown; and siblings: Evelyn Derringer, Vennie Hacker, Jean Johns, Janice Bray, Shirley Pruitt, Lucille Smith, John, Richard, Robert, Jessie, and Carl Fox.
Rev. Ed Tharpe will conduct a funeral service on Saturday, July 2 at noon at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time.
