Earl Lloyd Soley

Earl Lloyd Soley, age 95, of Nashville passed away at his home on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022. Born April 30,1927 in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of Earl L. and Florence B. Soley. Lloyd lived in Minneapolis, Chicago, and Lombard, Illinois attending Lincoln School in Lombard and Glenbard Township High School in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He joined the Navy in 1944 and served as a pharmacist at Mare Island Hospital. After service he attended the University of Illinois, graduating in Champaign in 1950, majoring in Geology and Chemistry, followed by two years of post graduate work at the University of Chicago. In 1977 he received his MBA from Xavier University in Business Economics and Finance.
Lloyd married Carol Smith of Elmhurst, Illinois in 1953 and moved to Wheaton, Illinois where they had two sons. He worked for various lime and cement companies in technical and management positions and retired in 1992. Consulting work took him to assignments in Africa, South America, Europe, Canada, and various parts of the U.S. Carol and Lloyd retired in Nashville in 1994 and enjoyed many years in Brown County.
Surviving are two sons David Soley (Ellen) of Lake Villa, Illinois and Jeffrey Soley (Martha) of Louisville, Kentucky, two grandsons, Nathan (Yenny) and Graham (fiancé Roxanne), and one granddaughter Alison Soley Schachtschneider (Kurt).
There are no scheduled services at this time.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the charity of one’s choosing.
