A lawsuit has been filed by the Indiana State Board of Accounts (SBOA) against Washington Township Trustee Brandon Magner.
The suit was filed in the Brown County Clerk’s Office on Aug. 25 in regards to Magner allegedly not filing the township’s annual financial report (AFR) from 2021 with SBOA.
Reports were supposed to have been filed by March 1. According to a letter from SBOA Deputy State Examiner Tammy White, as of March 15 no filing had been made by Magner.
If the AFR was not received by April 5, Magner was supposed to have appeared at SBOA office in Indianapolis on April 6.
Magner said last week there was an error in the AFR and it was rejected by Indiana Gateway. It has since been corrected, he said.
SBOA attorney Margaret McCutcheon could not be reached for comment by deadline.
