HOLIDAY EVENTS: Friendly Forest in Helmsburg; ‘Christmas Carol’ at the playhouse; NPD coloring contest ends this week

Friendly Forest: Winter Wonderland

Jackson Township Fire Department, 4831 Helmsburg Road, will host Friendly Forest: Winter Wonderland on Friday, Dec. 2 and 9 and Saturday, Dec. 3 and 10, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Friendly Forest: Winter Wonderland is full of bright lights, blow up characters and holiday music.

Santa will also be present for pictures and treats. The event is free, food is available for purchase and donations are welcome.

Christmas Carol

The Brown County Playhouse, 70 S Van Buren St., will show the Dickensian Christmas tale on Fridays, Dec. 9 and 16 and Saturdays, Dec. 10 and 17, at 7:30 and on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25, and concessions are available for purchase in the auditorium.

Police department holding Christmas coloring contest

The Nashville Metropolitan Police Department is holding a coloring contest until Friday, Dec. 9. Coloring pages can be picked up at Nashville Town Hall, 200 Commercial St.

Entries must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Dec. 9 to the NPD contest box located in the Nashville Town Hall, 200 Commercial St.

Age groups are as follows:

Group 1: 5 Years and younger

Group 2: 6 to 7 years old

Group 3: 8 to 9 years old

Group 4: 10 to 11 years old

Group 5: 12 to 13 years old

Group 6: 14 to 18 years old

One prize will be given for each age group and the NPD will deliver the prize to the winner of each age group.

Find Santa

All are welcome to find the hidden Santa at Brown County Antique Mall, 3288 State Road 46 East, and receive a surprise gift.

Find Santa at the mall on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10 and 11 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

“Make It, Take It” Holiday Workshop

Brown County Barn Burner, 185 South Jefferson Street, will host “Make It, Take It” holiday workshop on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m.

Guests can enjoy festive foods and create during a custom wreath-making session, hand-lettering a tea towel and cookie decorating.

The cost is $125 per person. Registration is limited.

Donate goodies for health, living center

All are invited to donate snacks, candies, sugar free items and signed Christmas Cards for the residents at Brown County Health and Living.

Items can be brought until Dec. 20 to the Brown County Assessor’s Office, 201 Locust Lane, who will take them to be distributed to the residents.

Victorian candlelit dinner

Story Inn, 6404 State Road 135 South, will offer holiday candlelight dining experiences that will take guests back to 1851, at the height of the reign of England’s Queen Victoria.

The dinners are at 5 and 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through December.
