Another round: Bar space closes, will operate as events venue only

Last summer, the original timber frame building that once housed The Original Big Woods restaurant near Molly’s Lane in Nashville was reopened as the Quaff ON! Pour House. The space became the first dedicated showcase and tap room for Quaff ON! since its 2012 founding, and served as a venue for live music performances.

At the beginning of this year, the decision was made to close the Pour House and change its focus once more.

The location now serves as The Big Woods Catering center, a rentable space for both public and private events. Last week, representatives from the Big Woods Restaurant Group explained the update to the location.

“Recent opportunities for Big Woods Restaurant Group to expand catering operations required additional kitchen space, and the Molly’s Lane property was the best option to make that happen quickly and cost-effectively,” representatives said.

According to the Quaff ON! website, the catering center is ready to be rented for events of nearly any kind, from rehearsal dinners, to birthday parties, to business meetings.

The space will remain limited to those 21 and older and can hold up to 25 to 30 people.

Big Woods representatives expressed that there is no specific focus on the kind of events that the space can be used for. The center is able to be personalized to fit renters’ needs or wants.

“The Big Woods Restaurant Group events team strives to make events as customizable as possible,” representatives said.

“So, the focus for all of our rental spaces is customer-driven — bring your vision, and our team will work with you to execute it.”

In addition to private events, the Molly’s Lane location will also be hosting reservation-only public events.

The first public event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 1, in the form of a Chef’s Dinner prepared by Big Woods’ executive chef Kathy Jones.

The dinner will feature a special, five-course menu with unique cocktail pairings featuring spirits from Hard Truth Distilling Co.
