Miller resigns from community foundation; Board searching for new CEO

After leading the organization since October 2018, the Brown County Community Foundation (BCCF) board of trustees announced that they accepted the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Maddison Miller effective March 15.

“Since 2018, Miller brought a level of vitality to the community with her grant-writing expertise, public speaking skills, and event coordination,” according to a press release from the community foundation.

“She spearheaded initiatives to help offset disruptions to businesses and families caused by the pandemic and was a leader in the development of the Early Education Center, now located on the Brown County Schools main campus.”

Miller said in the press release that she believed it was time to pass the baton.

“I believe it is now time to pass the baton to the next person to lead the foundation through its next phase of growth and development,” she said.

“I remain immensely proud of the things we’ve accomplished together during my tenure. They include, a successful GIFT campaign, shepherding the community through pandemic response, hundreds of impactful grants and scholarships, and building new institutions which meet the needs of this community.”

“We thank Maddison for the commitment, passion, enthusiasm, and motivation she has shown the community. She will be missed by the staff, board, community members, and partners alike and we look forward to following her future success. We are hopeful and excited as we now prepare for the next chapter of the BCCF,” said Dwight Thompson, Chair of BCCF Board of Trustees.

Over the next few months, BCCF will be conducting a search to find a new CEO. During this transition period, the trustees and staff will work to maintain a stable and effective organization.
