Rotary Club

Brown County Rotary Club will meet Thursday, May 11 at 7:45 a.m. at The Seasons Lodge in the Fireplace Lounge, 560 State Road 46 East.

DNR Officer Brent Bohbrink will be the guest speaker, accompanied by Police Canine Resource, Officer Moose.

Officer Bohbrink will provide an overview of the diverse work performed by Indiana DNR Officers and the assistance provided by Canine Resource Officers in the field.

Bohbrink is a Senior Conservation Officer with the Department of Natural Resources. He has served in Brown County for 20 years as a District 6 DNR Officer covering Brown, Monroe, Bartholomew, Morgan, Marion, Hendricks, Hancock, Shelby and Johnson counties.

Bohbrink earned an Associate’s degree in Conservation Law in 1999 from Vincennes University. He has served with the DNR as a river rescue instructor, field training officer, drill instructor and a public information officer for the Indiana Conservation Officer Recruit Schools in addition to his regular law enforcement responsibilities. Bohbrink’s partner Moose is an integral part of many law enforcement successes, employing some senses and abilities (e.g., hearing, smell, speed) that are superior to those of humans. Indiana Canine Resource Officers work in three primary areas – tracking of lost or missing persons and suspects, wildlife detection and area searches.

Members of the community, especially those interested in exploring opportunities to participate in projects and to be of service to our community, are invited to attend and to give Officer Bohbrink and his partner Moose a warm welcome.
