Salute to EMS

0

You often see them in a time of emergency, when you or a loved one are in need of help.

EMTs and paramedics arrive at your home, the scene of a crash or other places where the injured or helpless are facing tough times. They transport patients to the hospital when necessary.

They are the skilled pair of hands, the comforting voice, the beacon in dire times. From downtown Nashville to the very far reaches of rural Brown County, these professionals are ready to care for those in need until hospital staff can take over – or perhaps they simply help fix the situation so that trip to the hospital can be avoided.

In other words, the angels disguised as EMS staff are ready and waiting to care for residents and visitors here.

That’s why the Brown County Democrat sets aside space and time each spring during EMS Week. This national celebration is in its 49th year and dates back to 1974 when then-President Gerald Ford started a celebration of the work these first-responders do.

Please join us and these fine sponsors in saluting these talented and brave men and women who serve Brown County so well!
