Edward I. Spahr, Jr.

NASHVILLE

Edward Ignatious Spahr, Jr., age 73, of Nashville, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at the I.U. Bloomington Hospice House. Born September 14, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of Edward Ignatious Spahr, Sr. and Mary Ellen Florence (Brannen) Spahr. Edward worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years before his retirement. He loved his family, deemed “#1 Awesome Dad” by his children, loved antiquing and being outdoors. He was a very giving, principled man and devoted to the Catholic faith and St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville.

Edward is survived by his two sons; Edward Louis Spahr, III (wife, Suzi), of Indianapolis and Paul Douglas Spahr (wife, Adrianne), of Nashville, his daughter, Rebecca Suzanne Langan (husband, Andy), of Morrow, Ohio; three sisters, Barbara (John) McNamee, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Susan (Gary) Folkman, of Columbus, Indiana, Terri (Pat) Nelson, of Oxford, Ohio and Paul Kit) Spahr, of Columbus, Ohio and nine grandchildren; Will Spahr, Zach Spahr, Katy Spahr, Caiden Spahr, Adelyn Spahr, Isaac Spahr, Ella Spahr, Ryan Langan and Avery Langan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Debbie Spahr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday (10/12) at the St. Agnes Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Brown County Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the St. Agnes Catholic Church Youth.
