Event will serve as Weed Wrangle, Earth Day celebration all wrapped up in one

Anyone interested in learning about Invasive Species along learning about native replacements, AND having the opportunity to raze some invasive’s can join us on Saturday, April 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The focus this day will be garlic mustard. Meet us at Kelp Village/Horsemen’s Camp area in Brown County State Park. All ages are welcome. Long pants, closed toe shoes, gloves, sunscreen, bug spray and water are encouraged. This is a great opportunity to learn and help our wonderful county.

The Weed Wrangles are sponsored by Brown County Soil and Water Conservation District, SICIM (State of Indiana Cooperative Invasives Management) and BCNWP (Brown County Native Woodlands Project).

Brown County is also celebrating Earth Day the same day. That celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring the family to this fun filled festival in celebration of Earth Day!

Fun activities will include food trucks, kid’s activities, and free trees. You can tour the educational garden at the Salt Creek Trailhead and walk the Salt Creek Trail. Make sure you see the new mural at the end of the trail!

This event will take place at the YMCA parking lot and multipurpose room. 105 Willow St. in Nashville.
