Friends of Lake Monroe is having a Community Forum on management of Hoosier National Forest Monday, April 22.

The event will take place at the Monroe County Public Library Auditorium (303 E Kirkwood Avenue, Bloomington) from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The forum will provide information regarding various proposals for management of the forest including proposed vegetation management projests, bills aimed at expanding wilderness and designating recreational areas to preserve mature and old forest growth.

There will be a panel of experts to share information and allow the public to ask questions. The speakers will include Hoosier National Forest Supervisor Michael Chaveas, Indiana Forest Alliance Executive Director Jeff Stant and Friends of Lake Monroe President Sherry Mitchell-Bruker.
