Bob was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII, having served as an electrician on a Patrol Craft in the South Pacific.

He had been an electrical engineer and engineering manager for AT&T, formerly Indiana Bell for 30 years retiring in 1982.

Bob was an elder in almost every church he attended, where he was involved in many church expansion/construction projects and served as an Adult Sunday School Teacher. He was a Boy Scout Troop leader in his younger years, and he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity many winters in New Smyrna Beach, FL, later in life. Bob and Lucy retired to Brown County where they refurbished and added on to the log cabin Lucy was born in, maintaining the cabin and 100 wooded acres for the next 40 years. Lucy was known to have said, “It sure is wonderful being married to a he-man.” Bob was always willing to help his Brown County neighbors and family with home renovation, or any kind of project. He was a kind, patient, and loving man who was always teaching and helping people. Bob was devoted to his wife Lucy of 61 years and they loved working on projects together, traveling, and dancing. Everybody loved Bob because Bob loved everybody. His home was always open for visiting and was the site of many family and friend gatherings.
