Winners announced in Young Artist Exhibit

Thirty young artists’ work is included in the Young Artist Exhibit, hanging now at the Brown County Art Guild. Their work came from Brown, Monroe and Greene counties and as far away as Massachusetts.

Emily Yeargin of Bloomington High School North received the $150 prize of Best of Show for her painting, “Funny Face.”

Ashton Courtney of Bloomington High School North received the first-place prize of $125 for her work in pen titled “Giraffe.”

Cheyenne Ramos of Bloomfield Jr./Sr. High School received the second-place prize of $100 for her painting, “Price of Beauty.”

Olivia Robinson of Bloomington High School North received the third-place prize of $75 for her painting, “Levi.”

The honorable mention prize of $50 was awarded to Madalyn Allen of Brown County for her painting, “White Noise.”

A People’s Choice award will be awarded the day of the artists’ reception which takes place Saturday, Feb. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. with awards presented at 3 p.m.

All artwork is available for sale during this exhibit, which closes Feb. 25.

The guild, 48 S. Van Buren St., is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
