Studebaker National Drags coming to Bean Blossom

BEAN BLOSSOM — Studebaker National Drags will run Saturday, May 27 at the Brown County Dragway, 480 Gatesville Road.

Gates open at 9 a.m. with a parade lap at 10:30 a.m. Racing begins at 11 a.m. with Studebakers and other pre-1966 independent orphan cars making passes down the 8-mile dragway.

British Soccer camp offered this summer

Brown County YMCA and Brown County Parks & Recreation are accepting registrations for British Soccer camp. Pick up enrollment forms at Deer Run Park, 1001 Deer Run Lane.

The camp June 12-16 is open to players ages 3 to 18. Prices and session times vary, starting at $40.

Disc golf league plays Tuesdays in county

The Brown County Disc Golf Alliance plays regularly in Brown County and new members are welcome.

The group plays Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. at Deer Run Park or at the Brown County Country Club, alternating months. In May, it’s the country club.

Players of all skill levels are welcome, including those who have never played before. Loaner discs are available.

Open gym times offered at local Y

The Brown County YMCA offers open gym for basketball, volleyball and pickleball for players 16 and older of all ability levels, with informal, friendly games.

Basketball is offered from 3 to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays for junior and senior high school students, and 5 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays for all ages.

Volleyball is offered from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays.

Pickleball is 6 to 8 a.m. Mondays through Fridays, 7 to 9 a.m. Saturdays, and 1 to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The rock wall is open from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursdays for all ages.

Open gym hours are free for Y members and $3 per non-member.
