Charles ‘Chuck’ Kemp

Charles “Chuck” Edwin Kemp, 47, passed away all too soon from complications of congestive heart failure on Saturday morning, Sept. 2, 2017 at Community Heart & Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a lifelong resident of Morgantown.
Chuck was born July 16, 1970, in Franklin, to David L. and Joyce R. (Parson) Kemp. He was a 1988 graduate of Indian Creek High School and attended Ball State University. Chuck worked as a meat cutter for Meijer in Southport and previously gave 25 years of service to Marsh Supermarket.
Chuck was a lifetime member and past president of the German American Klub of Indianapolis, a member of Indianapolis Liederkranz and the Indianapolis Saenger Chor. He was chairman of the annual Oktoberfest in Indianapolis and managing member of the Edelweiss Restaurant. In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed hunting as well as supporting Indiana marching band competitions.
He will be dearly missed by his loving mother, Joyce R. Kemp of Morgantown; companion, Patty Johns of Indianapolis; brother, David E. (Valerie) Kemp of Morgantown; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father, David L. Kemp; and grandparents, Riley & Mary Jane (Nay) Kemp and Donald & Louise (Green) Parson.
The  Rev. Ed Tharpe will conduct a funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.
Friends were to call from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery, Morgantown.
