John H. Harris, 31, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness Wednesday, June 20, 2018.
He was born May 7, 1987 in Columbus to Dallas Richard Harris and Georgia Sutton Harris.
Survivors include his mother, Georgia Harris of Nashville; his companion, Mary Katherine Means of Nashville; an older brother, Adam (wife, Stephanie) Harris of Bloomington; and a nephew, Daxton Harris.
He was preceded in death by his father.
After graduating in 2006 from Brown County High School, John earned an associate’s degree from Lincoln College of Technology. He had attended Ivy Tech and was currently enrolled at Indiana University working towards his bachelor’s degree in fine arts. Adventurous and artistic, John enjoyed sculpting, traveling and cooking exotic cuisine. He was a kind and gentle person who would do anything he could to help others. John was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, in Nashville United Methodist Church, 36 S. Jefferson St., with Pastor Mary Cartwright officiating. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to service at the church.
