• Wednesday, July 4: Picnic for veterans, active duty military, and county government employees and their families at Deer Run Park shelterhouse, noon to 2 p.m. Bring a covered side dish; meat, buns, drinks, ice and table service provided.
• Wednesday, July 4: Fireworks-watching party, cookout, games, swimming and other activities at the Brown County Inn, 5 p.m. to dusk. No cover charge; food and drinks for sale.
• Wednesday, July 4: Fireworks at Brown County High School track/football field, dusk. Free; donations accepted by Brown County Lions to pay for the display. Cookout at nearby fire station to benefit volunteer firefighters, 6 to 9 p.m.
• Saturday, July 7: Celebration at Sweetwater Beach, Cordry-Sweetwater lakes community, 2 to 10 p.m., with fireworks at dusk. Beach party to include food, glow necklaces and merchandise to benefit the sponsor, the Cordry-Sweetwater Lot Owners Association. Live music also planned.
