Mary Elizabeth Moore

Dr. Mary Beth Moore, of Nashville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2018.

Mary Beth was the daughter of Rex and Ruth Russell of Sullivan.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Carrel Moore; a brother, Larry Russell; her children, Scott and Shauna Moore, Amy and Michael Powers, Tammy and Jon Endres; as well as 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Beth received her doctorate from Nova University in 2008 and served as a superintendent and principal for regional vocational school districts in Vermont before retiring in 2000. She was president of the Vermont State Vocational Directors Society and served several years on the Board of Regents for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Since retiring, Mary Beth had been active in community organizations, including the boards of the Brown County Community Foundation, Brown County Historical Society, Visitors Bureau and Brown County Chamber of Commerce.

Because she loved history and education, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Colonial Williamsburg Foundation; or to Nashville Christian Church, P.O. Box 248, Nashville, IN 47448.

Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Nashville Christian Church, 160 S. Van Buren St.
