Thomas Woodhouse Jr.

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA

Thomas Alton Woodhouse Jr., 83, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018. Tom was also known to his friends as “Bear.”

The son of Thomas Alton Woodhouse Sr. and Elizabeth (Harrison) Woodhouse, Tom is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Woodhouse; his daughters, Rebecca Normandin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jackie (Chris) McKinney of Hope; his son, Thomas Alton (Linda I.) Woodhouse III of Straughn; five grandchildren, Austin and Dalton McKinney of Hope, William Hendrix of Cutler, Alliza and Katie Woodhouse of Straughn; five brothers, Al (Sondra) Woodhouse of Bloomington, Bob (Jean) Woodhouse of Pendleton, Joe (Connie) Woodhouse of Greenwood, John (Hyseuk) Woodhouse of Bloomington, Terry Woodhouse of Nashville, Indiana; and one sister, Elizabeth Inman of Houston, Texas. They will all miss his daily phone calls which kept the close-knit family connected.

Tom proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for four years in the early 1950s both at home and overseas in the Far East. He later worked with his father and other family members for Kinney Shoes. Ultimately, Tom retired from Cummins Engine in Columbus after 34 years of service. Tom was a past member of the Shriners and he was a member of the Masons and Scottish Rite for over 50 years. He loved to bowl, play cards and tell tall tales. He never met a stranger.

A small ceremony was conducted in his honor at Pinewood Village, Florida.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date in Nashville, Indiana, to be announced.
