Commissioners, Highway Department seek bids for asphalt paving
INVITATION FOR BIDS
Notice is hereby given that the Brown County Commissioners/Highway Department, Brown County, Indiana, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, will be accepting sealed bid proposals on the following items:
2019-1 Roadway Improvements – Hot Mix Asphalt Paving – CCMG Grant Projects
Specifications may be obtained from the County Highway Department at 711 Greasy Creek Rd., Nashville, IN 47448
Bids must be submitted no later than May 15, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. to the office of the Brown County Auditor, 201 N. Locust Lane, County Government Building, Nashville, Indiana 47448. Bids will be publicly opened and read on May 15, 2019 during the scheduled Commissioners meeting which starts at 6 P.M. Bids shall be submitted on the forms in the Specifications, along with the Non-Collusion Affidavit, copy attached. A bid bond or certified check (10%) shall accompany each Bid. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Commissioners and display the name of the Contractor and marked as “2019 Roadway Improvements Bid – CCMG”. The successful bidder(s)shall furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount with an approved surety company. Said bonds to remain in full force and effect for a period of 180 days after the date of final acceptance of the work by the County.
It is anticipated that due to construction season limitations, if a bid is received which meets the specifications and budget of the County, a Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder on June 5, 2019, with pending contract approval from INDOT. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals or to accept any Proposal and to waive any and all informalities in the bid process.
