Driver injured in crash on Hornettown Road

HAMBLEN TWP. — A Brown County woman was taken to the hospital on June 6 after a crash on Hornettown Road.

Joyetta Boyd, 44, told police she was driving west in the 400 block when her vehicle failed to shift gears, an accident report from Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Horn states.

Boyd said her vehicle then went off the road, hit an embankment and struck another vehicle driven by Yonatan Tesfay, 43, of Indianapolis. After striking that vehicle, Boyd’s vehicle inverted, requiring her to climb out the window, the report states.

Tesfay told police he was driving east and watched Boyd’s vehicle leave the road. He said Boyd’s vehicle reacted quickly and swerved, striking his vehicle and causing Boyd’s to invert.

EMS arrived on scene and treated Boyd. She was taken to Johnson Memorial Health Hospital for treatment of minor abrasions to the face and right shoulder pain.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
