Stop leads to arrest for driving without license

GNAW BONE — A Bloomington man was arrested in Brown County Aug. 14 after he was pulled over for driving erratic speeds and swerving between the center and fog lines, police said.

Nashville Police Officer Richard A. King stopped the vehicle at Forest Hills Apartments after following Barry B. Hamilton, 53, on State Road 46 East.

Hamilton told King he was headed to work, but King reported seeing directions on Hamilton’s phone sitting on top of the center console. When asked why he needed directions to work after allegedly working there for six months, Hamilton did not respond.

King asked him why he was lying and Hamilton said it’s because his license was suspended for life.

Hamilton was taken to the Brown County jail. He was charged Aug. 14 with operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator, a Level 6 felony.
