Multiple teens charged for underage drinking

A weekend in Brown County resulted in multiple charges for drinking underage and driving under the influence for a group of visiting teens.

On July 1, Nashville Police Assistant Chief Tim True conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and found the driver, Jesus J. Ochoa Medina, 19, Indianapolis, was intoxicated, his report said. A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.06, the report said. The legal limit for a driver over the age of 21 is 0.08.

Two 19-year-old passengers, Alexis S. Rosales Parra and Martin Velazquez Andrade, from Indianapolis, were cited for illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a Class C misdemeanor.

A third passenger, Jesus J. Medina, 19, was charged with possessing around five grams of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor.

Around 3:30 a.m. July 2, police responded to a home in the 3400 block of Grandma Barnes Road after receiving an anonymous tip about a large party. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Joshua Stargell reported seeing eight vehicles parked outside and music and yelling coming from the rear of the home, the probable cause affidavit states.

True also responded. The two went around back and found a large amount of empty alcohol bottles on tables and all over the floor. They found several people in a hot tub on the back deck. There was only one woman outside who was 21, but others were inside the home.

After looking at all of the identification cards, police determined that six Indianapolis teens were there drinking underage and they were issued summons to appear in court.

The 21-year-old woman told police she thought everyone was 21.

Stargell said he knew the party had been going on since the early morning hours of July 1 because when True stopped the vehicle with the four teens in it, they told him they had left a home on Grandma Barnes Road and didn’t know how to get back there, the affidavit states.

Aryani Solano, 20, Joel Enrique Rodriguez, 20, Karla Perez, 20, Jose Manuel Garcia Nava, 19, Anthony A. Delcid, 18, and Jennifer Alcala Gomez, 19, all were issued summons for illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage.
