Man charged for carrying gun without license

A Brown County man has been charged with a felony for carrying a handgun without a license after police say he was involved in a road rage altercation at a Nashville gas station Aug. 13.

The victim told police he was approached by Mark D. Moore, 55, of Gatesville Road. Moore accused him of blocking the exit, and screamed and cussed at him from his vehicle, the man told police.

The man backed his vehicle up and headed for the other exit, but Moore jumped out of his truck and began to approach the victim’s vehicle, the affidavit states.

The man stopped to hear what Moore had to say, and then noticed Moore was carrying a handgun in his right hand that was still in the holster. The victim said Moore was still upset and screaming at him. He then left the parking lot and headed north on State Road 135.

The man said Moore followed him to Orchard Hill Road before turning around.

Two other people reported seeing the incident.

Moore was charged with one count of carrying a handgun without a license, a Level 5 felony, and another count of carrying a handgun without a license, a Class A misdemeanor. The Class A misdemeanor was elevated to a Level 5 felony because he was previously convicted of the crime in 2009.
