No serious injuries reported after vehicle overturns

No serious injuries were reported after a vehicle overturned on State Road 135 North on Oct. 23, then another vehicle hit a car that was stopped in traffic for the first accident

Police and emergency personnel responded to the 2300 block of 135 North at about 3:30 p.m. for an overturned vehicle in the road.

That driver, Donna J. Slater, 57, of Morgantown, and a passenger were sitting on the guardrail when police arrived, according a report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Colton Magner.

Slater told police she was driving north when her 1999 Chevolet Tracker lost traction and went into the southbound guardrail, then rolled onto its passenger side.

Susan Hawkins, 69, of Bean Blossom, stopped her 2013 Toyota Prius after seeing the crash and was rear-ended by a 1987 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Ezra Burke, 20, Morgantown.

Hawkins was checked out by EMS at the scene for back pain, but refused further treatment.

Slater’s vehicle was towed; the other two were not.
