Betty Jean (Seitz) Reed, 83, of Nashville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 at her home.
Funeral services to celebrate her life, officiated by the Rev. John M. Sichting, will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 22 at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North. Interment will follow in Christiansburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A Brown County native, Betty was born April 21, 1934, the daughter of the late Eugene and Hazle Irene (Matlock) Seitz.
She retired from Cummins after 37 years as a tech associate. Betty enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and word search puzzles. She also enjoyed NASCAR; her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Sr. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her three daughters, Connie (Dave) Collins, Barbara (Larry) McKinley, and Janet (Kevin) Ault; her sister, Marylou Barkes; five grandchildren, James (Alisha) McKinley, Jessica (Emiliano) Nochebuena, Danielle Bello, Meghan (DaRay) Williams, and Wesley (Lauren) Ault; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Followell; and a brother, Leslie Saylor.
