An early morning crash on March 17 resulted in the arrest of a Brown County man for driving while intoxicated.
Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Austin L. Schonfeld responded to the single-vehicle crash in the 1300 block of State Road 135 North at around 1 a.m.
The driver, Jeffery Romick, 49, of Cottonwood Road, said he was driving home. Schonfeld reported smelling alcohol on him, and that his speech was slurred, his eyes were bloodshot, that Romick was “name calling” and his balance was unsteady.
A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.18.
On March 19, Romick was charged with three misdemeanors for driving while intoxicated.
