Traffic stop results in two charges

A local man faces two drug-related misdemeanors after he was stopped on April 9 for driving a vehicle with license plates that didn’t belong to it.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht stopped Welden King Jr., 52, of Persimmon Ridge Road, on State Road 46 East. Eggebrecht found that King had a suspended driver’s license, and that he was carrying less than 30 grams of marijuana and a pipe, the report said.

He was charged April 16 with driving while suspended, a Class A misdemeanor; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
