Hobert “Hobe” Roark, 72, of Nashville, passed away Sunday evening, May 13, 2018 at Brown County Health & Living Community.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 16 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown.
The Rev. Darrell Miller will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 17 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Spearsville Wesleyan Church Cemetery, Brown County, with military rites presented by the Brown County Honor Guard.
Hobe was born June 6, 1945, in Leslie County, KY, to the late Will and Goldie (Sizemore) Roark. He was a 1964 graduate of Hazel Green High School in Kentucky. Hobe went on to serve as a sergeant with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He retired in 2004 as a foreman with R. Adams Roofing in Indianapolis after 20 years of service. Prior to that, Hobe held the same position with Blackmore Buchner Roofing of Indianapolis for 19 years.
He attended the Sprunica Baptist Church in Brown County and will be remembered as a hard worker. Hobe enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and camping. He loved spending time with family and caring for his dogs, Molly and Daisy.
Hobe is survived by his wife of 32 years, Loretta (Emerson) Roark, whom he married on Sept. 14, 1985 in Carrollton, KY. He is also survived by his children, Leona (John) Cross of Hendersonville, TN, Hobert “Lee” (Eva) Roark and Tina Roark, both of Indianapolis, and Lisa (Tim) Becraft of Brown County; siblings, Birtie Karr of Louisville, KY, Lou Anna Johnson of London, KY, Betsy Clark of Summerset, KY, Ruby Miller of London, KY, Rinda Witt of Brookville and Michael Roark of Richmond, KY; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Helen Mills, Levi and John Henry Roark.
