Motorcyclist injured in benefit ride

A Columbus man was injured on Saturday while he was riding his motorcycle in a benefit ride on Gatesville Road.

Sgt. Bill Southerland, with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, reported that the crash happened just before noon May 19 near Bean Blossom Road.

The driver, Robert L. Bryan, 63, was part of a group traveling west on Gatesville Road when he went off the edge of the road, causing his motorcycle to go down, the report states.

Bryan was not wearing a helmet.

He was treated at the scene by EMS for a fractured/dislocated elbow/lower arm, the report states.
