School board approves meal prices, staff changes

The Brown County School Board of Trustees approved the following July 19:

  • Changing the lunch price from $2.85 to $2.90 per day, per student, and the breakfast price from $1.75 to $1.80.
  • A retirement notice from Brown County Junior High School Head Custodian Wendy Burgmeier, effective Aug. 29.
  • An out-of-state field trip for the Brown County High School Spanish department and 37 BCHS students to go to Chicago Nov. 16 and 17.
  • Hiring Marie Mooney as substitute corporation nurse during the maternity leave of Holly Gordon, two to three days per week, at a rate of $25 per hour, eight hours per day.
  • Using Rick Colglazier and Kelli Davis as the retirement plan specialists for Brown County Schools and CSI Advisory Services as the firm of engagement.
  • Hiring Samuel Bowman to complete the vacated position of summer technology support, not to exceed 38.5 hours. He is a replacement for Savannah Lovins.
  • Appointing BCHS cheerleading coach Bobbie Knaus, $2,941 stipend, effective Aug. 8. She is a replacement for Lacee Robinson.
  • Appointing BCHS soccer coach August Simons, $4,134 stipend, effective Aug. 8. He is a replacement for Erich Nolan.
  • Appointing Helmsburg Elementary School after-school supervisor Carrie Lookebill, two days per week, $13.75 per hour, effective Aug. 8.
  • Appointing HES after-school supervisor Michaela Adams, part-time with no benefits, three days per week, $13.75 per hour, effective Aug. 8.
