Driver loses control, crashes into cornfield

JACKSON TWP. — A 21-year-old Brown County man was treated at the scene of a crash on Lick Creek Road after losing control of his vehicle and plowing into a cornfield.

Paul Houchin told police he was driving too fast, southbound in the 7200 block of Lick Creek Road, when he lost control of his car just after 10 a.m. July 31, according to an accident report by Sgt. Scott Bowling with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

His car struck a mailbox, then a tree, before coming to a rest in a cornfield, the report states.

Houchin was treated at the scene by EMS for chest pain.

His vehicle was towed. He was wearing a seat belt, the report said.
