Notice is hereby given that the Brown County Schools, Nashville, Indiana, will receive sealed proposals until 4:00 p.m. EST, on April 23, 2019. NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING OF LAND OCCUPIERS

TO BE HELD FOR THE BROWN COUNTY SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT

To all occupiers of lands lying within the boundaries of the Brown County Soil and Water Conservation District, notice is hereby given that on the 7 day of March, 2019, beginning at 6:00 P.M., an annual meeting will be held for the purpose of making a full and due report of their activities and financial affairs since the last annual meeting and to elect a supervisor for the Brown County Soil and Water Conservation District of the State of Indiana. In case of hazardous roads that severely restrict travel, the meeting will be held on the 12 day of March, 2019.

All land occupiers and other interested parties are entitled to attend.

The meeting will be held at the Brown County History Center in Nashville, In.

NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS OF HEARING

ON PROPOSED Cumulative Firefighting Building and Equipment Fund

Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of Van Buren Township, Brown County, Indiana  that the Van Buren Township Advisory Board will consider at SBVFD, 4040 State Road 135 S.  Nashville, IN 47448 at 6:00 PM  on March 4th, 2019, the establishment of a Cumulative Firefighting Building and Equipment Fund under the provisions of Indiana Code 36-8-14  for all uses as set out in IC 36-8-14 .

The tax will be levied on all taxable real and personal property within the taxing district and  will not exceed $0.0333 per $100 of assessed valuation. The proposed fund will be levied beginning with taxes due and payable in the year 2020.

Taxpayers appearing at such hearing shall have the right to be heard thereon. The proposal for establishment of the Cumulative Firefighting Building and Equipment Fund is subject to approval by the Department of Local Government Finance.

Within 30 days after the date of the adoption of the cumulative fund by Van Buren Township Advisory Board, the Township will publish a Notice of Adoption.

Upon publication of the Notice of Adoption, 10 or more taxpayers in the taxing district may file a petition with the County Auditor not later than noon 30 days after the publication of the Notice of Adoption setting forth their objections to the proposed fund.

LEGAL NOTICE

The Lake Lemon Conservancy District will conduct its Annual Meeting on Thursday, February 28th, 2019 at the City of Bloomington Utilities Building, 600 E. Miller Dr., Bloomington, Indiana,  47401, at 6:00 P.M.  Purposes of the Annual Meeting are to review the 2018 accomplishments/business of the District and to discuss future plans for the District.

Meeting will include the election of  Mike Blackwell for Director; Sub-Area VII .Mike Blackwell ran unopposed and will take the Oath of Office at the Annual Meeting.

Per IC 14-33-17 (Indiana Conservancy Act), the Board of Directors, at the Annual Meeting, will elect Board Officers for 2019.

DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Water, will hold a public meeting on February 27, 2019 beginning at 1:30pm (local time) in the Brown County Public Library located at 205 Locust Lane in Nashville, Indiana 47448.  The purpose of this meeting is to gather testimony on the following water supply contract application: Applicant: The Golf Club at Eagle Pointe, 2250 E. Pointe Rd, Bloomington, IN 47410; Request: Water Supply Contract for Irrigation Purposes; Reservoir: Monroe Lake; Location: Monroe County, 2250 E. Pointe Road, Bloomington, IN 47401.

This public hearing is being held pursuant to the provisions of Indiana Code 14-25-2-2.5 and 312 IAC 6.3 which authorizes the State to contract for the provision of certain minimum quantities of stream flow or to sell water on a unit pricing basis for water supply purposes from the water supply storage in reservoir impoundments that are financed by the State of Indiana. The Natural Resources Commission shall consider the following factors to determine, subject to approval by the Attorney General and the Governor, whether to enter the contract: 1) Terms, conditions, and purposes of the authorizing legislation; 2) The likelihood of adverse effects to: a) Public Safety; b) The Environment; c) Navigation; d) Recreation; 3) The availability of another source of water to the person making the request; 4) The proximity to the reservoir of any person that would receive water from the person making the request; 5) The water allocation priorities for the use of withdrawn water.

The issues directly related to this request for a water supply contract will be addressed at the meeting. The meeting will include a presentation by the Department describing the nature of the request and the process by which the Commission will determine whether to enter the contract with The Golf Club at Eagle Pointe. An opportunity for public comment on the pending request will be provided.
