James W. Jackson

James “Jim” W. Jackson, 75, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Brown County.

Jim was born Jan. 2, 1944, in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, to the late Virgil and Martha Jackson. He married Rose D. (Mellis) Jackson in November of 1972 in Indianapolis; she survives, after 46 devoted years of marriage.

Jim was known to many friends and family as “Dobbie.” He retired in January 1999 after 30 years as a laborer for American Precast Concrete. Jim enjoyed spending time in the outdoors by fishing, hunting and doing yard work. He enjoyed finding yard sales and was a big University of Kentucky fan. Most of all, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family.

He will be missed by his wife, Rose; children, Teresa Lynn Jackson and James Steven Jackson, both of Indianapolis, William Ellis of Madison, James Wesley Jackson of Nashville, Teresa Leynes of Nineveh and Lori Connerly of Indianapolis; grandchildren, James Ryan, Christopher, Justin, James Tyler, Aaron, Telara, Thomas, James Raven, Christopher Curtis and Sasha Lee; great-grandchildren, Ava Jade, Marley, Charlie Lynn and Wyatt; siblings, Raymond Jackson, Virgil Jackson, Debbie Moore and Sheila Cox.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Margie Mudd.

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 25 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sprunica Baptist Church Cemetery,  Brown County.
