Drivers will notice a change in Morgantown this week as crews will change the way traffic flows on the Indian Creek bridge just south of Morgantown on State Road 135 North.

A rehabilitation project is currently ongoing on the truss bridge. The pattern change is expected to happen on or after Wednesday, Sept. 8.

At the bridge, traffic will be switched from the normal pattern on the truss bridge onto a temporary runaround and bridge, according to a press release from the Indiana Department of Transportation.

The speed limit will also be reduced to 25 mph. A width restriction will also be put in place with lanes reduced to 12 feet on the temporary bridge, according to INDOT.

Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution and not be distracted while driving in and near all construction zones.

Work is dependent on the weather and schedules are subject to change.
