John and Karen Elliott made a personal pledge of $2,500.

From now until First Responders Day, Oct. 28, you can support our brave first responders in Brown County by donating to the Fill the Boot Campaign. Join Brown County Presbyterian Church, Rotary Club of Brown County, Brown County Volunteer Firefighters, and Brown County Community Foundation as they request donations to Fill the Boot for First Responders.

“We are focusing our efforts on connecting with donors, volunteers, and the public to support our First Responders with easy ways to give including the foundation website, Facebook, and by texting FILLTHEBOOT to 44321,” said John Elliott BCCF Board of Trustees member. “My wife Karen and I have made a personal pledge of $2,500 to this important effort and I am calling on the community to give any amount you can. Your support is critical to providing assistance to our local volunteer firefighters, so please donate now.”

Created in 2020 as a response to reduced funds from pandemic related cancellations, the event was relaunched across Brown County again last year with a focus on all first responders. First Responders Day is the perfect opportunity to leverage a national day of recognition to support our local heroes. These brave men and women put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe, and they deserve our appreciation and assistance. By donating to this campaign, you can help ensure that our local heroes have the resources they need to do their jobs effectively. Every donation counts, no matter how big or small, and all funds raised will go directly to supporting our local volunteer firefighters.

In addition to the $2,500 donated by the Elliott’s, Brown County Presbyterian Church has pledged $5,000 to the campaign, and they are urging the community to do the same. “With the support of donors and volunteers, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our first responders. So please, donate now and help us Fill the Boot for First Responders,” said Jane Gore, Brown County Presbyterian Church.

The Brown County Community Foundation has the best interests of the community at heart. By supporting charitable organizations in broad areas of community need – education, social services, health care, arts and humanities, and environment – we help build a stronger, healthier Brown County.
