Nine 4-H members were recognized July 31 upon reaching the end of their careers in the youth organization. These are the accomplishments they shared with the 4-H office:

Clubs: Cat Tails, dairy goat, poultry and sheep
Plans after graduation: Attend Michigan State University and major in natural science.
4-H reflection: “My favorite 4-H experience is the dairy goat club, because it brought me closer to my dad’s side of the family.”
Jean A. Brand
Daughter of: Christy and Jason Lane
Club: Pork Folks
Plans after graduation: Attend Ivy Tech and become a machinist.
4-H reflection: “Because of 4-H, I am able to focus on life. I have learned life skills from my parents, the Harsches, my 4-H leaders and all the leaders. Learning how to care for our animals and the daily schedule has helped me better myself.”
Jennifer Bube

Daughter of: Mike and Sharon Bube

Plans after graduation: Currently completing a degree in visual communications at Ivy Tech Community College; will travel to Colorado to study firearms technologies at Trinidad.
4-H reflection: “Because of 4-H, I am able to — and I will — pursue my passions and zest for life without reserve or fear, and hope to inspire the same within others in my community, my country and my world.”

Plans after graduation: Attend Indiana State University, majoring in nursing.

Plans after graduation: Attend Ball State University to study organizational communications, environmental management and Spanish.
4-H reflection: “Because of 4-H, I will be able to measure my success by two criteria: Did I improve in this skill, and was I able to help someone in the process? 4-H has taught me that projects are for more than just ribbons; they are lenses for teaching kids to constantly strive for self-improvement.”
