Virginia D. (Tankersly) Emberton, 91, Brown County, died Sunday morning, Sept. 18, 2016, at her residence.

Virginia is survived by her children, James P. Emberton of Brown County, Shirley A. Mullikin of Martinsville, Colleen C. (Daniel) Lehr and Linda L. Dilley, both of Brown County, Joyce M. (Ridgely) Chittum of Clay County, Gayla J. Haley of Greenwood; brother, June Tankersly of Bargersville; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Emberton; two infant children; a great-grandson; and a great-great-grandson.

The Revs. Peter Heland and Jeff Floyd will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Meredith–Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown.

Friends can call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Spearsville Wesleyan Church Cemetery in Brown County.
