BEAN BLOSSOM — A Bloomington man was arrested for driving drunk after he almost ran over a woman with a golf cart at the Bill Monroe Memorial Music Park and Campground Sept. 9, police said.

Samuel H. Woods, 36, was driving a Yamaha golf cart when he narrowly missed the woman and struck two motorcycles and a camper trailer — causing damage to all three — at around 1:55 p.m., police reported.

Indiana State Police Trooper Chris Griggs reported smelling alcohol on Woods, that his speech was slurred, and his balance was unsteady, a probable cause affidavit states. A chemical test administered at the Brown County jail showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.169, more than twice the legal limit, the report said.

Wood was charged Sept. 13 three OWI counts, all misdemeanors, and public intoxication, a Class B misdemeanor.
