A Bloomington man was flown out by a medical helicopter after he crashed a stolen truck in Brown County Dec. 5.

The blue service truck that Jesse Irvin Richardson, 28, was driving when he crashed on Country Club Road was stolen from Bloomington, Indiana State Police Trooper Chris Griggs reported.

Richardson was flown to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with a compound fracture to his ankle.

Griggs reported that Richardson was traveling at a “high rate of speed” on Country Club Road and was unable to navigate a curve. The truck ran off the road and through a fence before striking a tree.

The investigation is ongoing and results of a toxicology report are pending, Griggs reported.
