Virginia L. Young, 92, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016.

She was born on March 30, 1924 to the late Floyd and Lena May (Fritch) Young.

Miss Young received her master’s degree in education and majored in both Latin and mathematics. She taught Latin, English and mathematics for over 40 years at Brown County High School. Miss Young was an avid gardener and a member of Trafalgar United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her brother, Leon D. Young (Patricia) of Bloomington; nieces, Kathy Carlson, Rebecca Smith (Duane), Donna Marrs (David) and Bonnie Hawkins; nephews, Randy Young and Robin Young (Michel); and many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted in the spring.
