Words from the Heart

I grew up a child,

Raised on love

I was taught to have faith,

In the Lord up above

My folks didn’t have much,

But they were patient and kind

And these heartfelt words,

They said, Child, keep in mind.

We’re all of us sinners,

And we all make mistakes

Judge not, be forgiving, and never hate

Have hope, understanding,

And remember this well

Whatever life hands you,

God’s love will prevail

Now this church takes me home,

Though my folks have passed on

But the words they once spoke,

Will forever live on

God loves all His children,

He’ll always forgive

Let us follow His example,

In peace, let us live
