Phyllis Helen Davis, 68, of Nashville, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2018 in her home.

She was born Aug. 9, 1950 in Indianapolis to Lester Paul Weiss and Martha Jean Pich Weiss.

She was a bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Trinity Woodworks.

Survivors include her four children, Vassar (Becky) Davis of Middletown, Ohio, Leyla Davis and Harmony (Richard) Gist, both of Nashville, and Daniel (Kelsey) Davis of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Myah and Joshua Woodard, Colton and Gabriel Gist; six siblings, Lester Weiss, Jeanne Salin, Patti Shanahan; her twin, Phillip Weiss; Tony Weiss and Andy Bowman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 27 years, Hugh Davis; and a son, Gabriel Davis.

Phyllis was a member of The Bridge Brown County church. She was a champion swimmer in her youth and was well known for her sense of humor. Phyllis led worship for 30 years; she was known for being in the group Proclamation. She was everyone’s prayer warrior and listened, counseled and supported those around her.

A celebration of life will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 in Rising Hope Baptist Church, 1267 Old State Road 46.
