Letter: Lighted sign would be ‘incongruous’ with Nashville

To the editor:

The Maple Leaf Group has gone astray in suggesting that a LED-type programmable sign would be welcomed in our lovely county. It is the least artistic choice of all options and spells UGLY without a moving letter. The Tivoili Theatre in Spencer is an example of such a spectacle. Take a drive and see. The inside is stunning, but the public cannot escape the oversized blinking eyesore situated by the historic town square. It is an incongruous sight and to be duplicated in our village is simply “Looney Tunes” without the laughter.

You want public support, right? Bury this idea permanently.
