Letter: paper carrier grateful for route customers

To the editor:

If you live in the area that goes from Nashville to Morgantown and from Spearsville to Lake Lemon, I deliver your Democrat.

I started delivering in 2015 and and have enjoyed it most of the time. Been startled a few times by a scared sparrow hitting me in the head when I put a paper in a box they were sleeping in. It is fun getting them out of the car and cleaning it up. Been stuck a few times on the back roads when it has snowed and had a few flat tires.

For some strange reason I have driven right past a few customers that I have delivered to since I started this route, completely forgetting to deliver their paper. Must be when I am listening to “Gunsmoke,” “Dragnet,” Jack Benny or any of the other shows on old-time radio; I get kind of involved in the plot.

I would like to thank my customers for allowing me to deliver their paper each week. Your patience and understanding makes the job easier.
