A 74-year-old woman was treated at the scene of a crash after she hit a patch of ice while driving on Helmsburg Road the evening of Feb. 8.

Elizabeth Hoyt, of Nashville, told police she was driving south on Helmsburg Road near Morrison Road when she hit a patch of ice that caused her to lose control and skid off into a ditch, according to an accident report by Sgt. Bill Southerland with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

A witness reported seeing the crash and the vehicle roll on to its passenger side. Hoyt was treated at the scene for a complaint of pain to her elbow and lower arm, the report states.

She was wearing a seat belt. Her vehicle was towed.
